Public nuisances

One of the downsides of running a public web site is the junk mail you get. It has long been standard practice to have a feedback form for users to contact you. This was not a problem in the beginning, but it wasn’t long before the lowlife on the net started to abuse the facility to send spam.

One such example was this message I received today:

Hello there

My name is Sergey and I am a co-founder of Sweaty Quid Freelancer Market place where you can purchase and offer all types of on-line services varying from backlinks and guest post to explainer video clips, infographics and articles for your online site.

I strongly believe that you and your site moviesite.co.za could seriously benefit from Sweaty Quid, no matter if you would like to supply your services or employ the services of freelancers to aid you to grow your business.

I have been a freelancer on various marketplaces for over 5 years and have had my accounts randomly shut down, my earnings pocketed and I just simply had a difficult time with many low quality freelancers. After much unnecessary aggravation, I made a decision to launch my very own freelance market place that would do things in a different way and a lot better.

After almost one year of caffeinne powered nights, myself and my team at Creative Bear Tech have built up Sweaty Quid from groun up. One month into our release we have managed to draw in a very good number of top quality freelancers and an extremely high number of repeat customers. I believe this functions as a testament to our success.

Sweaty Quid is a spam-free and straightforward marketplace for quality freelancers and buyers. We are rigorously banning all spammy vendors who do not pass our quality threshold and leave only the absolute best ones. Keeping abreast of the latest technologcal changes, we also accept cryptocurrency as one of our payment methods. Our ethos that defines us is that sometimes less is more, primarily when it comes to high quality freelancers.

We are still very new in comparison to other freelance market places, but we are already punching above our weight.

I would like to welcome you personally to register with Sweaty Quid Freelancer Market Place!

Kind regards

Sergey Greenfields
Founder of Sweaty Quid Freelancer Marketplace
Flat 9, 1 Jardine Rd, St Katharine’s & Wapping,

Sergey, of course, entered the following as his email address:
michigan-marijuana-lawyer@prokonto.pl

Which is of course totally the sort of email address that the head of a growing start-up based in London would use. What better way to build confidence… even the famous billg@microsoft.com can’t compete with a Michigan marijuana lawyer based in Poland.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. I log the IP addresses of people using the feedback form… and his IP address is 177.130.0.35, which is apparently Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

So now we have someone in Brazil pitching his London-based business to me, with a Polish email address. What’s not to like?

I can’t quite figure out if the address is residential or business… might be some modern-type business park, but does look residential. See for yourself here
